It’s been a stressful couple of weeks for Bayern Munich fans, as the club experienced another injury crisis on the wings. However, we finally have some good news — Serge Gnabry is fit and participating in team training. The German is expected to make the squad for the Bundesliga restart against Hertha Berlin on Sunday, which will surely provide a huge boost to Hansi Flick’s deflated team.
Bayern Munich posted a video of a happy Gnabry training with his teammates:

Doesn’t it just warm your heart? He seems to have recovered from the issues with his Achilles tendon, something that can be potentially very serious. Given the nature of the injury, it’s likely that Flick will refrain from naming him to the starting XI immediately, but he could be an option from the bench if needed.
If Gnabry is able to play, that would be huge for team. He is Bayern’s second highest scorer after Robert Lewandowski, with 11 goals in 22 games this season, and his availability keeps Thomas Muller from having to go out on the wing and away from his preferred position behind the striker. On Twitter, the player referred to his injury as a “minor setback”:

Could it be a hint that he’s more ready than we realize? Seeing Gnabry in the starting XI on Sunday would be amazing, but let’s hope that the team plays it safe and only lets him go out if they’re completely sure about his status. There’s no need to take any risks.
