Germany nearly hit a magical ten goals scored for their second straight game when they beat Ukraine 8-0 in qualifying for Euro 2021. The German women are, obviously, the heavy favorites in Group I; however, they sure seem determined to show they’re going to score a bunch of goals in the process.

Sara Dabritz grabbed a hat trick while solo goals were scored by Lina Magull, Felicitas Rauch, Lena Oberdorf, Svenja Huth, and Leonie Maier.

Oberdorf’s goal was her first with the senior national team. The 17 year old has become a regular under Martina Voss-Tecklenburg. While the Germans were cruising in this one, the final four goals all came after the 80th minute. With the Ukraine reeling, Germany pounced and punished every minor mistake.

The Germans have picked up six points out of the first two games, while scoring eighteen goals and conceding zero. They’ll return to qualifying in the October international break. Germany will host Ukraine on October 5 and travel to Greece on October 8.

Germany XI: Frohms — Rauch, Oberdorf, Doorsoun, Gwinn (61 Maier) — Dabritz, Maroszan, Magull (61 Dallmann) — Huth, Popp, Buhl (75 Knaak)
