Bayern Munich U19s kick off UEFA Youth League with draw (FCBayern)
Bayern Munich were forced to settle for a scoreless draw against Red Star in the first game of the 2019-20 UEFA Youth League. It was a disappointing result for Bayern as they dominated they bulk of the contest.
Martin Demichelis rolled out the youngest side the Bayern has ever played in the UEFA Youth League, with four players (Bright Arrey-Mbi, David Herold, Torben Rhein, and Lasse Günther) eligible for the club’s U17 side as well.
Unfortunately for Bayern, Red Star’s 17 year old goalkeeper Andrija Katic had a terrific match, keeping numous Bayern chances out of the back of his net. Full highlights from the club are below.
In the other game of the group, Tottenham and Olympiacos drew 1-1.
Bayern XI: Schneller - Waidner, Daniliuc, Arrey-Mbi, Herold - Mosandl (88. Johansson), Stiller, Rhein - Günther, Tillman (73. Halbich), Herrmann (64. Cuni)
