Bayern Munich’s new and bright LED lighting at the Allianz Arena was on display yesterday during the Champions League match against Red Star.

You may have noticed that the Allianz Arena had a little more color last night during Bayern Munich’s 3-0 victory over Red Star in the Champions League. That was because of the new decorative LED lighting installed by the Zumtobel Group. Per FCBayern.com:

With its comprehensive lighting expertise, the Zumtobel Group has redesigned the inner roof area of ​​the Allianz Arena, one of the most modern stadiums in the world. The lighting company is currently implementing a complete lighting solution in several areas. The first stage, the inner roof area, has now been put into operation for the match against Belgrade.

Alfred Felder, Zumtobel Group CEO, had this to say about the project:

In this first phase of construction, the Zumtobel Group has developed a highly sophisticated customer-specific roof system and lighting solution. Bayern-red is shining brightly.

In the first phase of this project, the inner ring on the roof was fitted with LED strips, which has a circumference of 370 meters (1,214 feet). In addition, the strips are not just relegated to red and can change colors if needed.
