Mandy Islacker grabbed a stoppage time winner to see Bayern Munich Frauen to a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 32 match against Göteborg FC. It was a big goal, giving Bayern two away goals heading into the second leg in Munich.

In the pouring rain, it was tough for either Bayern or Göteborg to really get going in this one. However, Bayern consistently moved the ball around and challenged the Göteborg goalkeeper. Unfortunately for Bayern, Carolin Simon had to leave the game early due to an injury. Fortunately, Simon was replaced by Islacker.

In the 75th minute, Linda Dallmann was fouled in the area, earning a big penalty for the Bavarians. Islacker stepped up and sent the Göteborg goalkeeper the wrong directly for the 1-0 lead. The lead would last until the 86th minute, when Amanda Ilestedt was whistled for a penalty. Elin Rubensson scored the penalty for the equalizer.

Then, with time ticking away, Melanie Leupolz played a perfect ball into the box into the path of Islacker. She shot for the winner and scored it to give Bayern the 2-1 victory.

The second leg will take place in Munich on September 25.
