Benjamin Pavard, Bayern Munich’s new addition to the back line is enjoying his first few months of the season at the club and has some thoughts to share about his new life in Munich (via SportBild).

Uli Hoeness has been one of the major figures at the Bayern Munich front office since over a decade and has contributed to the growth of the club in several ways. The Frenchman has only good things to share about the club president, whom he believes is the reason behind the club achieving great things:

Even before I signed in December, we had communicated once or twice. Mr. Hoeness is a fantastic personality, who loves the club like no one else. When FC Bayern is there where it is today, then it’s above all because of the president. He was very important for me, but everyone else also contributed. Things work very much like a family.

Bayern have five French internationals in the roster this season and it is an advantage for each of them to play alongside their national teammates. It also helps them get along very well and makes the communication easier, although the presence of other Frenchmen was not necessarily crucial for Pavard. He said:

Of course that was good. But when I came to Stuttgart, I was the only one. So I also do fine without [other French players]. But we obviously talk a lot with one another, and that also facilitated my integration.

Bayern Munich being a bigger club than his former team, Pavard talks about the differences that he felt when he signed for the Bavarians. The Frenchman still has a lot of love for his former club. He said:

It’s quite obviously a whole other scale in comparison to VfB [Stuttgart]. But I also have to say thanks to Stuttgart for everything. By the way, I still always watch almost every one of their games. VfB opened the door to FC Bayern for me; I’m living in another world now.

Pavard shared memories of his first visit at the Allianz Arena and his dream of wanting to play for Die Roten one day, which is a dream that has finally come true for the Frenchman:

When Stuttgart played at the Allianz Arena I realized it for the first time. I walked through the corridors and thought, “This is a world club with an unbelievably rich history; I’d like to come here.” [Bayern is] beyond doubt the best German club, if not the best in the world. I’m currently enjoying every day; the level and intensity in training are outstanding. Attention is paid to every detail: a bad first touch and you immediately get a dressing-down. It comes down to centimeters here.

Niko Kovač and Pavard are on excellent terms. According to him, they have a perfect working relationship. Pavard is determined to improve his German to communicate more effectively with his coach and teammates:

Everything moves smoothly between us. I immediately could tell that he trusts me. I play alot and he often speaks with me. He speaks a few words of French, but we cover the rest in German. I understand a lot. But I’m determined to improve. I want to speak more German. In a pinch, it works in English. My relationship with the coach at any rate is perfect.

Pavard has the optimism and enthusiasm that are needed at the moment, and we hope that he continues to deliver top performances for the club.
