Franck Ribery was on the verge of signing a deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Nasr, but, according to a new report by Bild, the deal has fallen through. The Saudis were offering Ribery a two-year contract for €5 million net per year, but were unwilling guarantee the entire sum in advance. Hence Ribery ultimately refused to sign.
Now Mark van Bommel, Ribery’s fellow teammate at Bayern Munich, would like to sign the winger for PSV Eindhoven, but it is unclear whether Eindhoven can afford Ribery. The club finished second behind Ajax in the Eredivisie last season and will play in the Europa League this season after failing to advance in the Champions League qualifications against FC Basel.
Ribéry reportedly also has received inquiries from the Premier League, including Arsenal, Manchester United, and Aston Villa. He has declined offers from the Bundesliga so as not to have to play against Bayern.
