Bayern Munich prospect Meritan Shabani is reportedly on his way to Wolverhampton per Sky Sports. Interestingly, it looks like Shabani would not move directly to the first-team and would be rostered with Wolverhampton’s U-23 team instead:

Sky sources understand Wolves are close to signing Bayern Munich midfielder Meritan Shabani. The 20-year old, who has started one Bundesliga game for Bayern, is in the UK to finalize personal terms and have a medical after the two clubs agreed a fee. The attacking midfielder has one year left on his current contract and is expected to go straight into Wolves’ U-23 squad.

Shabani was reportedly being courted by Ajax in January, but things cooled over the following months. By March, reports had leaked that Shabani was part of a Bayern youth contingent that would likely be sold during this transfer window. True to form, the other prospects in that report, Marco Friedl and Woo-Yeong Jeong, have already been moved by the Bavarians. Friedl is with Werder Bremen, while Jeong is now playing for SC Freiburg.

UPDATE: Bayern Munich have confirmed the transfer. No terms have been released.
