It’s taken almost all summer, but it looks like the Leroy Sané-to-Bayern Munich saga is edging closer and closer to the end. At this point, personal terms have reportedly been agreed by Sane, his representatives, Manchester City, and Bayern, and it’s only the fee remains to be negotiated. At this point, it would be surprising to see the deal fall through.

Strangely enough, per a new report from the Münchener Merkur, an unlikely figure is playing an important role behind the scenes in the Sané deal. David Beckham has an agency based in London England, DB Ventures Limited. One of Beckham’s close friends and a former teammate at the Manchester United’s youth academy, David Gardner, works for the agency alongside Jason Ferguson, son of former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Both Beckham and Gardner have a solid relationship and connections with both Premier League clubs from Manchester, City and United.

Sane’s parents discovered the agency at the beginning of June and wanted to collaborate to help get the deal done. Sané’s mother Regina, who’s has a reputation as a tough negotiator was especially in favor of having Beckham become Sané’s new agent. With both Beckham and Garder working on the deal, Regina felt, Sané would get the proper amount of money for the move, ultimately making him the most expensive transfer in Bundesliga history and possibly even become the highest earner at Bayern.

The summer transfer window for the Premier League officially closes this Thursday (August 8th), so there is little time left for the deal to be finalized. Per the Merkur, though, Beckham, Gardner, Sane’s family, and the rest of his representatives are confident the deal will be completed before deadline day. One reason why the negotiations have taken so long is the sheer number of people involved between both clubs, Beckham’s agency, and Sané’s own family.

How does everyone feel about this? Will Becks help Bayern bring Sané to Munich before the deadline on Thursday? Let us know in the comments section below!
