According to a recent report from SN out of Croatia, current Juventus player and Manchester United target Mario Mandžukić could feasibly return to his old stomping grounds in Bavaria. Per SN, if an agreement is not made shortly, the 33-year-old could find himself back on his way to Bavaria where he was a prominent player for several years.
However, it continues with stating that Manchester United have more pressing issues at hand with the constant rumors surrounding Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku wanting to leave the club. Those more pressing needs ultimately are pressing pushing a wrench into these long-rumored plans:
So why hasn’t the transfer been implemented yet? First and foremost because Manchester United have big items on the agenda, starting with Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku looking to leave Old Trafford.
While time will only tell, with the current status of the Bayern squad and its lack of depth, as well as his relatively low transfer fee, Mandžukić would be a rather nice fit in his return to Bayern. When you toss in Bayern & Juventus’s recent transfer history, it is not too far off from being a plausible Plan B. Who knows, maybe he would be able to perform one of these (below) as a member of Die Roten.
