In an expected move, Spain has called up Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara for its upcoming UEFA European Championships qualifying matches. Thiago has 31 caps with the Spanish senior-team since 2011 and has scored two goals during that time.

Spain will face-off with Romania on Thursday September 5th (2:45PM EST) at Arena Națională in Bucharest, Romania. On Sunday September 8th (2:45PM EST), Spain will then battle the Faroe Islands at El Molinón - Enrique Castro Quini in Gijón, Spain.

The complete roster list for Spain is below:

The Spanish team has many familiar faces on it, but Thiago will not be the only Bundesliga player representing the squad. Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer was also selected to the team after a very strong set of performances so far this season for BVB.

Thiago could also see some time in the midfielder with Manchester City’s Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, aka Rodi, who was reportedly on Bayern Munich’s wish list earlier this summer.
