Get ready to sit through a bunch of nonsense no one cares about just to do a 5-minute draw.

Well here we are — the Champions League qualifiers have been concluded, and that means it’s time for the group stage draw. Bayern Munich, as Bundesliga champions, get to be in pot 1 alongside the other league winners (plus Liverpool and Chelsea, holders of the two European cups).

That doesn’t mean that the draw will be kind kind to us, however. Here’s a look at the pots and how things are at the moment:

Pot 1: Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Zenit.

Pot 2: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Shakhtar Donetsk, Tottenham Hotspur, Ajax, Benfica.

Pot 3: Bayer Leverkusen, Red Bull Salzburg, Olympiacos, Club Brugge, Valencia, Inter Milan, Lyon, Dinamo Zagreb.

Pot 4: Lokomotiv Moscow, Genk, RB Leipzig, Atalanta, Lille, Salvia Praha, Crvena Zvezda.

The rules for the draw state that no two teams from the same association can be drawn together in the same group. If you want to simulate your own UCL draw, then you can find a handy draw simulator here.
