Bayern Munich’s Polish striker has had an impressive start of the season for Bayern Munich. Robert Lewandowski has scored all of Bayern’s goals in the Bundesliga, first a brace against Hertha Berlin and then a hat-trick against Schalke. The striker was previously very vocal when it came to Bayern’s (in)activity in the transfer market, but now, according to Bild, he is very happy with the latest acquisitions — Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perišić. More specifically, Coutinho made a great impression on the Pole after coming to Bavaria to a one-year-loan from Barcelona. Lewandowski said,

His final pass is crazy. He can be the key and the x-factor in important games, especially in the Champions League. We are more unpredictable because of him; that makes us more dangerous. He can play the 10, on the left wing, and even on the right in a pinch. We can play with one or two 6’s, with a 10 or two 8’s. We now have more options.

Coutinho himself admires Lewa very much. Asked what he thinks of Bayern’s Tormaschine, Coutinho answered simply, “He’s a legend.”

Robert, who is about to sign a new contract, is also very happy about Bayern’s second major signing this summer — Ivan Perišić. The two know each other very well since they played together for Borussia Dortmund.

Ivan can be a really big surprise for us, I’m sure of it. He’s good with his left, his right, his head, robust, and he can dribble well. Ivan can help right away and even put pressure on other players on the roster and push them.

It is clear: if Bayern wants to compete on all three fronts, the club need a big squad that can put in world-class performances every week. The Bavarians are already facing heated competition from Borussia Dortmund, but Lewandowski is certain that Bayern has what it takes to be on top!

Dortmund did a lot; they have a big squad. But in the end it’s not about quantity, but about quality. And in that regard I’m convinced: we have the players with greater quality.
