Bavarian Loan Works: Adrian Fein and Hamburg rise to the top, Franck Evina and KFC Uerdingen stumble

Bayern Munich’s two players out on loan continue to churn away in the lower divisions.

Adrian Fein - Hamburg - 2.Bundesliga

Fein put together another solid performance in the midfield for Hamburg in their 1-0 victory over Bochum. Hamburg have moved into first place in the second division as of writing, and Fein has been a big part of that. The young midfielder is continuing to receive immense experience following last season’s loan with Jahn Regensburg, and it seems as if Bayern has figured out a solid development plan for Fein. Next week should be quite an important, early match with HSV heading to Karlsruher.

Franck Evina - KFC Uerdingen - 3.Liga

After last week’s relatively positive performance against Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal, Uerdingen went out against Ingolstadt this weekend in the 3.Liga and suffered a 3-0 defeat. Evina started up top in a 4-2-3-1 for Uerdingen but was forced to drop deep to really help generate any offense, so he wasn’t very effective at threatening the Ingolstadt goal. Later in the match, he was moved out to the wing when Adriano Grimaldi came on and Uerdingen pushed for goals. However, that desperation for goals came back to bite them as Ingolstadt scored two goals after the 90th minute to seal the victory.

This marked the first league match of the season that Evina did not score a goal for Uerdingen.
