Werner caught in a waiting game, but has options (Sport Bild)
RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner seems eager to make a move to Bayern Munich and Sport Bild is reporting in its weekly magazine that the Bavarians have entered into preliminary talks with Werner’s agent, Karl-Heinz Foster:
Karl-Heinz Forster has waited in vain for a call from Bavaria in the last waking hours. His client Timo Werner (23) also indicated an interest in Bavaria and conversations were conducted. Since then, however, little happened due to the opening Pokal match at Energie Cottbus.
Could it finally be #TimoTime in Bavaria? kicker thinks it will happen next summer:
Is Timo Werner staying at RB Leipzig or is he leaving? According to kicker information, the striker still does not want to extend his contract expiring in 2020 — although there is no prospect of a timely departure. The Saxons had sought clarity before the start of the season. Thus, the 23-year-old national player will stay with the Leipzigers according to the current status and could change free transfer next summer. As an interested party is Bayern Munich.
Reports out of Spain, however, indicate that Valencia is streaking in to make a last-minute offer. Per AS, Valencia is about to lose striker Rodrigo Moreno to Atlético de Simeone and needs a replacement:
The fact is that with the progress of Rodrigo, Valencia has accelerated contacts to close as soon as possible two attack players. And in those, a name has emerged that pleases Valencia: Timo Werner, German striker, 23, of the Red Bull Leipzig.
The German attacker would enter as Rodrigo’s replacement, although his club will ask for a high financial consideration for letting him go. Werner, at 23, has already played 25 games with the German national team and has materialized 10 goals. Valencia should spend a large part of the €55 million (plus five in incentives) that it will receive for Rodrigo if it wants to jump for the German. It remains to be known if (Valencia management) wants to invest all of Rodrigo’s transfer money in a player.
Jovic to be loaned out (Marca)
Reports out of Serbia think Real Madrid will loan out former Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic, but Marca seems to think otherwise:
Preseason has been tough for all involved at Real Madrid and that includes Luka Jovic, who has yet to score for his new club. This has partly been because of an injury, but it is being said in Serbia that the striker has generally failed to convince Zinedine Zidane and that he could be loaned out for the upcoming season. According to the two main newspapers in Serbia, the 21-year-old could be loaned out just weeks after he was brought in from Eintracht Frankfurt. Despite these reports, it’s very unlikely that he will go out on loan.
Jovic is a very solid talent and has excellent potential, but breaking into a veteran-laden lineup like Los Blancos is not easy. Surely, Jovic knew that when he agreed to move to Spain. The youngster likely just needs a little more time to prove his mettle.
As we know, though, there is little room for patience in Madrid. If you don’t produce, you will get a quick hook.
Bayern scoping Matuidi? (Transfer Market Web)
Could Bayern be looking to bolster its midfield with Juventus’ Blaise Matuidi?
Possibly leaving Juventus after two seasons, French international defensive midfielder Blaise Matuidi (32), according to Libero, has become an item of interest for Bayern Munich, inquiring Bianconeri about former PSG player. Still on a deal with Serie A defending champions until June 2020, Matuidi is tracked by AS Monaco as well.

Can to get canned? (Transfer Market Web)
Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri does not seem to want to keep Emre Can around:
Despite having joined just last summer, and having been deemed a milestone for the team so far, German international center-back/half-back Emre Can (25) might be soon put up for sale by Juventus, on Bianconeri boss Maurizio Sarri’s suggestion, who’s rather into veteran Sami Khedira. Former Liverpool player is currently on a deal with Serie A defending champions until June 2022, and might be leaving on an about 27.5 million euros fee.
Nothing like pitting two former Germany internationals against each other to start the season!

PSG has not submitted an offer on Dybala yet (Calciomercato)
Neither Paris Saint-Germain nor Bayern Munich have submitted an offer on Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala:
Juventus are in a waiting phase on the Paulo Dybala front. The past few days have been complicated, but also full of meetings. The failed operations with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have certainly slowed down the sale. Even though PSG are interested in Dybala, they remain focused on the sale of Neymar, thus no offers have arrived from the French side yet. Furthermore, the player’s agent is cautious for the exact same reason.
For the Argentine striker, however, it’s a peculiar situation. He wants to prove himself at Juventus, but the club seem to have made their decision already. From day-to-day, though, the situation is changing. In addition to PSG, Bayern Munich have also been linked with the player. However, the German side haven’t made any offers either, and have decided to focus on other targets. For now, all we can do is wait.
What an idiot (Daily Mail)
Marseille has released Adil Rami for bailing on practice to appear on a reality television show:
Adil Rami has reportedly been sacked by Marseille after missing club training and later being seen appearing on a reality TV show. World Cup winner Rami, who was dumped by Baywatch star Pamela Anderson earlier this year, was initially suspended by his French employers last month after failing to report for first-team duty. Rami was due to return for training on May 20 but failed to show - two days after the win against Toulouse in which was injured.
Instead however he starred in French game show Fort Boyard despite still struggling with the knock, much to the annoyance of his employers. Marseille’s club lawyers have indeed notified the representatives of the 33-year-old that his contract has been terminated, according to The Sun. Rami was seen on the filming of the popular TV show, wearing shorts and a t-shirt while diving around in a gooey substance.
