He’s almost here folks — the player you’ve all been waiting for. Ivan Perisic was spotted having his medical in Munich ahead of his reported loan move to the Bavarian capital. Bayern Munich are expected to make the transfer official very soon, with a reported €5m being paid to Inter Milan as a loan fee.
Compared to the incredible drama of the Leroy Sané saga, the Perisic loan has concluded with little fanfare. Bild spotted the winger exiting the practice of Bayern internist Dr. Roland Schmidt and asked him for comment. Perisic was reported to be in a good mood and replied: “Yeah, I just had a medical checkup.”
That settles it then. Not quite as FC Hollywood as we would have liked, but it’ll have to do. At €5m for the loan and a €20m buy option (note: OPTION and not obligation) Perisic is a decent depth signing who can be expected to put in a shift
if when Kingsley Coman goes down with injury.
Hopefully, this is just the start of depth reinforcements for the squad, and a 30-year-old Croatian isn’t the last transfer Bayern make this window. Because if that turns out to be the case, let’s just say Dr. Müller-Wohlfarht will need to break out some voodoo magic to keep the squad fit.
