The talented youngster showed flashes of brilliance in the preseason, but there seems to be some confusion over if he will fit into Bayern Munich’s plans.

One of the great stories of Bayern Munich’s preseason was the emergence of former Hamburger SV standout Fiete Arp. The 19-year-old showed the ability to play both striker and wing, which should present a strong pathway to being a contributor this season in Bavaria.

As seems to be the theme of the summer, however, conflicting reports are leaking out about what the exact plans for the youngster will be. Per kicker (via TZ), Bayern is still exploring sending Arp away to gain more high-level game experience, while Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg argues that Bayern is not discussing a loan of Arp:

According to our information, a loan for Fiete #Arp is not yet planned. He wants to show what he’s got with FCB and follow up his good preseason. Even when reporters determine that he is not often included within the club in discussions about the players on the professional squad. @Sport1

The anticipated arrival of Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic could be a roadblock for minutes that might have originally been slated for the young talent. Whatever happens, Bayern will be expected to have a developmental plan for Arp soon as the Bundesliga season opens on Friday.
