Bayern Munich signing Lucas Hernandez has resumed running and is working his way back from a knee ailment that he sustained at Atlético Madrid.

Hernandez’s work in training represents progress for a player who has sat out the past three months after undergoing surgery on his right knee. Per a report from FCBayern.com, Hernandez did almost 30 minutes of running before heading back to the training center to continue his individual training.

Hernandez gave a quick update on his progress:

(It) feels very good, I feel very good. I continue to work in small steps and hope that the medical department will soon give the go-ahead that I can start this Bundesliga season with a top level.

Hernandez, of course, is being counted on to play a key role for Bayern this season. While he is expected to see most of his time at center-back, Hernandez does offer Niko Kovac a very good option at left-back should David Alaba need a rest.
