The new head coach of Chelsea, Frank Lampard, has insisted that he wants Callum Hudson-Odoi to remain at the London club. Heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, the 18-year-old’s future remains unknown.
Reiterating the potential future he has at Chelsea, Lampard stated that the winger is “central for us on the pitch and that is the opportunity that is really in front of him now.” Furthermore, the Chelsea head coach described the winger as one that is “going to be a world-class player.”
With one year remaining on his contract, Hudson-Odoi’s future will be one FC Bayern are looking to determine. While Chelsea, with the return of Lampard as the new coach, are hoping to extend the contract of the talented winger, there were clear frustrations under Maurizio Sarri and the lack of playing time. Whether that frustration continues under Lampard, remains to be seen. It’s clear that the London club will be doing what they can to convince the 18-year-old’s future is at Chelsea, and not in Bavaria.
