Bayern Munich II’s triumph in the Regionalliga Bayern saw Die Roten return to the 3. Liga. Relegated during the 2010-11 season, FC Bayern II have been on a mission to return to the third tier of German football, the highest level for reserve teams.

Announced on July 3, the DFB have released the fixtures for the upcoming 3. Liga season. Commencing with a Bavarian Derby, Sebastian Hoeneß and Bayern will face Würzburger Kickers at the Flyeralarm Arena. Die Roten’s first home fixture at the Grünwalder Stadion will take place against KFC Uerdingen 05, Franck Evina's loaner club for the season.

A tantalizing prospect for fans and players of Bayern, the Munich Derby is one that many will be waiting for. Taking place in November, the red side of Munich will be hoping to earn bragging rights against their city rivals.

Elsewhere in the 3. Liga, the amateure will the face the historic FC Kaiserslautern at home in December, as well as a challenging clash against recently relegated Bavarians, Ingolstadt 04, in September at the Grünwalder Stadion.
