Singh, Fruchtl, Zaiser will be with first team at Audi Cup

It was revealed on Monday on Bayern’s official website that three members of Bayern II will be missing Tuesday’s match against Hansa Rostock in order to appear with the first team at the Audi Cup against Fenerbahce on Tuesday and Real Madrid or Tottenham on Wednesday.

Midfielders Sarpreet Singh and Maximilian Zaiser plus goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl will be joining Niko Kovac’s team for the two friendlies. Without knowing how Kovac plans to deploy substitutes in these two friendlies, it’s hard to know if we’ll see any of them get playing time.

Sydney Lohmann broke her collarbone against Arsenal

Bayern Munich confirmed today that Sydney Lohmann broke her collarbone in Sunday’s match against Arsenal. The 19 year old midfielder will be out for several weeks, certainly missing the beginning of the Frauen Bundesliga season.

Lohmann took a hard fall at midfield after a collision. While she was able to walk off the field on her own, she wasn’t moving her arm very much at all. The likelihood was always a shoulder or collarbone issue.

We wish her a speedy recovery.

Bayern II take on Hansa Rostock on Tuesday

Following their big win against KFC Uerdingen over the weekend, Bayern II are back at it on Tuesday with a match against Hansa Rostock. They’ll be taking the field in Rostock a couple of hours before Bayern and Fenerbahce kick off back in Munich.

With Fruchtl spending time with the first team this week, that means Ron-Thorben Hoffmann is likely to start this match. The two young goalkeepers are going to be in strong competition all season long.

Rostock finished in sixth place in the 3.Liga last season, bu they’ve had a massive overhaul this summer with a lot of players going in and out.

The injury list remains long with Kilian Senkbeil (knee), Derrick Köhn (ankle), Daniels Ontuzans (ankle), Timothy Tillman (ankle), Maximilian Franzke (knee), Theo Rieg (knee), Michael Netolitzky (knee), and Mert Yilmaz (illness) all set to miss out.

U19s beat Dynamo Budweis

Martin Demichelis’s U19 side beat the U19 team of Dynamo Budweis 3-0 on Monday. Sixteen year old Lasse Gunther had the opening goal for Bayern.

Lineup: Schneller (46. Mayer); Kehl, Lawrence, Mihaljevic (46. Hofmann), Poznanski (46. Herold); Stiller (70. Booth); Günther (46. Cuni), Johansson (46. Mosandl), Rhein, Herrmann; Madougou (46. Motika)

More youth teams in action

More of Bayern’s youth teams were in action over the weekend including the U16s, U15s, and U14s. You can read more about their results here.
