Franck Ribéry may have left Bayern Munich, but he is still a very big part of the club. The departure of the Robben-Ribéry duo has left a hole in the roster and signing wingers has become an urgent need of the hour. In an interview given to SportBild, the Frenchman expressed his thoughts on the transfer scenario in Munich.

The Bavarians bade adieu to four players this season and the club now has to find a way to fill the void they’ve left behind before it’s too late. Ribéry told SportBild:

I’m closely watching what’s happening at Bayern. They obviously still want to get some players. There were a lot of departures that the club has to compensate for.

The Frenchman is following everything that’s going on behind the scenes at the front office. He hopes for necessary investments in the transfer market and the addition of good reinforcements:

Bayern needs quality. They have to invest, add reinforcements! I myself am following what they’re doing with great interest.

Although Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman are a perfect fit for Bayern, it is going to be hard for them to stay consistent throughout the season without sufficient backups.

With only Gnabry and Coman it’s perhaps too little to go into the new season! Both are good players, but consistently playing a season at the highest level is a new challenge — particularly since both of them always have had problems with injuries. Bayern needs more wingers.

It has become obvious that everyone in Munich wants to see Leroy Sané in Bayern colours, more or less. He is a top target for Bayern and Ribéry, too, has high hopes about the youngster:

He has top-class skills, can play on the left and right side. I’m eager to see whether he really decides in favor of Munich, whether he’s game for the Bundesliga.

He has emphasised the need of finding replacements, and it is something almost every Bayern fan has been looking forward to for a very long time. Hopefully, this summer will surprise us.
