Bayern Munich to sport new Champions League kits in friendly vs. AC Milan

These kits are straight fire, and our boys look like they’re ready to drop some serious mix tapes in the release pictures.

We’ve already seen the leak for Bayern Munich’s alternate Champions League kits for the 2019/2020 season, but now we’ll get the chance to see the boys sport the full kits in their last pre-season friendly in the U.S. tonight against AC Milan. If you were a big fan of Bayern’s black, orange, and grey away jersey from the 2016-2017 season, then you’re probably going to like this one. The navy blue base with orange stripes and detailing bare a striking resemblance to the 2016-2017 away kit, though it lacks a diagonal grey pattern.

The full kits are already available for purchase on Bayern’s official club web site — jerseys, shorts, and socks.

*Side note: There’s an absolutely boss picture of Robert Lewandowski on the club store’s home page with a graphic behind him of some of Bayern’s famous moments in their Champions League history. It’s well worth it to check it out!

Have a look a Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller, and Kingsley Coman sporting the new kits in an official photo release:

As I had written back in the beginning of June when the design concept for the kits were first leaked:

Like the home and away kits, this third jersey also seems to follow the theme of paying homage to the Allianz Arena with the diamond shapes that appear throughout the front of the jersey. It’s almost like this particular kit kind of resembles what the outer shell of the arena looks like at night when it’s lit up (minus the orange detailing).

Bayern and Adidas have really put an emphasis on paying homage to their historic home ground with all of their kits for the upcoming season, and this new Champions League kit, also has elements of past jerseys that were worn for Europe’s biggest club competition.

We can’t wait to see these kits tonight in Kansas City!
