Bayern Munich announced today per press release that the club has reached the milestone of 150 official fan clubs in North America. After opening Bayern’s first international office in New York five years ago, Bavarians have seen exponential growth in North America.

Jörg Wacker, Bayern Munich’s Executive Board Member for Internationalization and Strategy, described the aims of the move to New York as that of growing “our fan base, support the growth of soccer on and off the field and form mutually beneficial partnerships.”

Describing the triumph as a “special moment,” Rudolf Vidal, Bayern’s President of the Americas, is undoubtedly delighted with the growth and international outlook of Bayern. Bayern began with just eight American fan clubs in 2013, the first being established on December 20, 1995, in Martinsville, New Jersey.

Since expanding into North America, Bayern’s international growth shows no signs of slowing down. Due to the interactive and engaging outlook of the club, particularly conspicuous in the social media work of @FCBayernUS from its New York office, fans across the Americas have come together in support of the Rekordmeister.
