France Football has reported that Ousmane Dembélé is a “priority” for FC Bayern. The report notes that FC Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has made first contact with the World Cup winner’s entourage. However, Salihamidžić is currently waiting to see how the situation surrounding Neymar and Antoine Griezmann unfolds, in the hope of that Dembélé’s price will fall if Barcelona sign them.
Since moving to Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, the 22-year-old has made a total of 46 appearances in La Liga, scoring 11 and assisting 12. He is supposedly regarded very highly by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, whereas Bayern president Uli Hoeness pointedly criticized the player for his actions to force an acrimonious divorce from Dortmund.
Dembélé would be the fifth Frenchman at Bayern, following Kingsley Coman, Corentin Tolisso, and new signees Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard. France Football claims that Bayern might be an attractive destination for Dembélé because “he would be assured that he’d be a starter and could become one of the main attractions of the Bundesliga.”
Christian Falk says Bayern haven’t made contact with Barcelona for the player yet. However, that doesn’t rule anything out.
