Earlier today, Bild chief Christian Falk tweeted out that Bayern Munich was discussing a transfer for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. Lo Celso is 23 years old and has a contract that runs through the 2023 season.

Interestingly, Bayern seems to be jumping into the fray late on Lo Celso, who has reportedly been targeted by both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United per The Sun.

Lo Celso was on loan with Real Betis last season when the club opted to purchase the midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain for €22 million back in April. Even if Bayern’s inquiry is completely legitimated and serious, it looks like the Bavarians might have an uphill battle in trying to lure the player to Germany.

Bayern Munich look to steal Tottenham’s top transfer target Giovani Lo Celso — as the Real Betis star is eyed by the Bundesliga champions. The in-demand Argentine, 23, is also on the radar of Manchester United, with Spurs initially leading the race.

However, it’s claimed the North Londoners were put off by the staggering £60million asking price. The playmaker has reportedly told Betis he wants to join Spurs, but could now have his head turned after Bayern expressed their interest.

Lo Celso was on loan at the Spaniards from Paris Saint-Germain last term and scored 15 times before the club exercised their option for a £20m permanent move. Even without playing a single more game, Lo Celso could be on his way with Betis making a massive profit.

The Sun also indicated that Lo Celso has a €98 million release clause in his contract, but it is not expected that Real Betis will demand the full fee be met. Still, the La Liga side turned down a €59 million bid from Tottenham earlier this summer.
