According to a report from AZ, Chelsea’s prized talent Callum Hudson-Odoi will remain at Stamford Bridge for at least the upcoming season. For now, Bayern Munich’s quest to bring in the 18-year-old prospect appears to have hit a roadblock.

Hasan Salihamidzic’s personal favorite will not come to Bayern — at least not this summer. As AZ has learned from England, Callum Hudson-Odoi will remain at Chelsea. For Munich and their sporting director Brazzo, there is no chance for a commitment for the time being.

According to the Daily Mail, Bavaria will bid 50 million euros for Hudson-Odoi, but the youngster, who will be out due to an Achilles tendon for some time, is in the plans (at Stamford Bridge) with an important role for new Chelsea coach Frank Lampard.

The €50 million bid that Bayern was reportedly going to submit for Hudson-Odoi might be all-for-naught. The news comes at an especially tough time for the Bavarians as the club might also be out of the running for Manchester City star and Germany international Leroy Sane. Truly, this would be a double-whammy to Bayern’s effort to add more talent on the flanks.

For its part, Chelsea will also continue to press Hudson-Odoi into signing a new deal.

Chelsea is aiming for a contract extension with the own plant, but this is not a sure thing. Hudson-Odoi was given little appreciation last season under former coach Maurizio Sarri.

If the latest reports regarding Hudson-Odoi and Sane are true, Bayern will have struck out in its pursuit of two players who could have been considered game changers in Munich.

Fire up the coffee pot Brazzo, you’re going to need it.
