Bayern Munich are showing an interest in Kieran Trippier, according to Sky Sports. Trippier started 36 games for Tottenham at right back last season, including the Champions League Final against Liverpool.

Trippier has a contract with Tottenham through 2022, so it’s likely that Tottenham are going to be looking for quite the hefty transfer fee for the 28 year old. Trippier has previously been linked with Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli.

The report also states that Trippier is probably too expensive for the role that Bayern are looking, which is why Sky Germany believe AS Monaco’s Benjamin Henrichs is the better choice.

BFW Analysis

Bayern being linked with a third fullback, specifically a right back here, appears to be giving more validity to the reports that Niko Kovac sees Joshua Kimmich spending at least part of the upcoming season in the midfield and that Pavard is seen as more of a centerback than a right back.

It remains to be seen if any of these rumors transfers come to pass. the price of Cancelo and Trippier would mean that Kimmich is spending the majority of the season in the midfield. The signing of Henrichs would mean that the club is more interested in a backup, rotational player rather than a regular starter.
