Bayern Munich II continued its preparation for the upcoming season by defeating Dukla Prague in a friendly earlier today.
Some familiar names helped lead the way for Bayern II as Oliver Batista Meier (32’), Kwasi Okyere Wriedt (63’), Sarpeet Singh (78’) and Joshua Zirkzee (79’) all scored to pace the offensive attack as reported by FCBayern.com. Christian Früchtl was the goalkeeper.
Needless to say, coach Sebastian Hoeness was happy with the outcome:
It was a very good test against the hoped-for tough opponent. After initial difficulties we found our way into the game and in the second half we showed the necessary coolness. But we’ve also seen what happens when we lose. The bottom line was that it was another step in the right direction, but we still have some steps to take. The anticipation of next week’s start is great.
The lineup for Bayern II featured some very familiar names, but the squad was missing quite a few key players due to injury. Nico Feldhahn (muscular), Chris Richards (ankle), Derrick Köhn (ankle), Timothy Tillman (syndesmosis ligament), Maximilian Franzke (outer knee ligament), and Michael Netolitzky (meniscus rupture) are all out for an extended amount of time with injuries, while Bayern II was also missing Josip Stanisic (illness), Paul Will (muscular), and Mert Yilmaz (muscular) with shorter-term ailments. The squad was also without Theo Rieg (advanced training) and Ron-Thorben Hoffmann (planned absence).
