The FC Bayern Munich Frauen are coming off a successful 2018-2019 campaign and are looking to build on that success for the upcoming season. The Frauen finished second in the Women’s Bundesliga, while also reaching the UEFA Women’s Champions League and Women’s DFB-Pokal semifinals before losing to FC Barcelona and Wolfsburg respectively.

As a way to kick off its season, FCBayern.com presented the squad’s coaching staff for 2019-2020. Head coach Jens Scheuer has come over from SC Freiburg and will be taking over for Thomas Wörle. In addition to Freiburg, Scheuer has coaching experience with FC Bötzingen and the Bahlinger SC.

Supporting Scheuer on the staff will be assistant coaches Jérôme Reisacher and Marco Knirsch, goalkeeping coach Peter Kargus, and athletic trainer Christopher Gamperl. Knirsch and Kargus are holdovers from the last coaching regime and should provide some stability during the team’s official transition to Scheuer.

The Frauen have endured a fair amount of turnover during this off-season, losing quality players like Sara Däbritz (Paris Saint-Germain), Jill Roord (Arsenal), Manuela Zinsberger (Arsenal), and Fridolina Rolfo (Wolfsburg). On the bright side, the Frauen were able to bring in 2019 World Cup “Best Young Player” award winner Giulia Gwinn (SC Freiburg), as well as Linda Dallmann (SGS Essen) and Carina Schlüter (SC Sand) among others.
