According to a report from Sport, Paris Saint-Germain could be preparing to make an offer for Manchester City wing and Germany international Leroy Sane. With Neymar’s future in Paris in a state of flux, PSG is looking at alternative options should the volatile situation trigger the Brazil international to leave the club.
Oddly, Sane’s transfer timetable might now hinge on how quickly FC Barcelona (or another club) can cut through the red tape to bring back Neymar. Barca is considered to be the leading candidate to procure Neymar as Real Madrid appears to have bowed out of the race.
At PSG, they already see Neymar Jr. more “out of” than “in” Paris. At the French capital they are thinking about names that might complement Kylian Mbappé and Edinson Cavani up front. And Leroy Sané might be an option to hold down the left wing.
Now that Sané has recently returned from vacation, Bayern Munich is eagerly awaiting an opportunity to close a deal, while Manchester City is also rumored to want to retain the talented winger. Adding the deep pockets of PSG into the bidding mix could be an issue for the Bavarians. The Paris-based, Qatari-backed club has the financial means to submit a larger transfer bid and also offer Sané a bigger salary than Bayern Munich can.
Sané has not yet renewed with Manchester City, and it was rumored a few weeks ago that he could be one of the candidates to replace Neymar. The talented German winger was a target for PSG three years ago, when he was still at Schalke 04, but ended up signing for City under recent acquired Pep Guardiola. Now they’re looking at that again.
From a Bayern Munich perspective, the longer the Neymar saga drags on, the better, if Sané truly wants to leave Manchester City. Sané, however, has nothing but time on his side at this point. The former Schalke 04 man has weeks to let this play out and see which club can provide him the best contract.
