Sport Bild scoffs at Bayern links to Mane (Sport Bild)

In a rumor that has seemingly come out of nowhere, Sport Bild cited a report by L’Equipe (paywalled) that stated that Bayern Munich has interest Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

Apparently it’s Liverpool Week at Bayern. A few days ago, we saw Bayern linked to Mohamed Salah. Oh, and there were also those pesky “Bayern wants Jurgen Klopp” rumors.

I personally can’t wait until we progress to this headline (and Tom Adams subsequently not knowing whether to laugh or cry):

“BAYERN WANTS ALL OF LIVERPOOL”

Anyway, here is what Sport Bild had to say:

According to the French sports newspaper “L’Equipe” the Munich team has another Premier League star in its sights. Sadio Mané (27) of the newly crowned Champion League winner FC Liverpool will be a candidate.

But what about the rumors? SPORT BILD assessment: A commitment is very unlikely!

As he has done many times of late, it was Christian Falk himself, who went full “Falk Master Flex” and crushed the rumor.

Bayern listed among suitors for Eriksen (Transfer Market Web)

These Christian Eriksen-to-Bayern rumors pop up every few weeks it seems, but now the whispers are growing a bit louder. Getting Eriksen, who is expected to be extremely expensive, will be tough for the Bavarians. In addition, Juventus, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United are also rumored to have interest in the 27-year-old.

According to The Times, Tottenham re-established Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen’s 100£m exit fee, matching almost 115 million euros. The 27-year-old is tracked by five clubs right now: Juventus, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, and Manchester United.

Inter making a play for Rebic? (Transfer Market Web)

It is kind of sad to watch Eintracht Frankfurt’s vaunted offense being picked apart, but that is what appears to be happening. Luka Jovic has already bolted for Real Madrid. Sebastien Haller is garnering a ton of interest, including from Manchester United. Now, it appears as if Ante Rebic might soon be sifting through offers.

Heavily linked to Bayern Munich last summer, Croatian international winger/forward Ante Rebic (25), according to Sport Bild, is being approached by Inter Milan. Italian club offered the Eintracht Frankfurt footballer a 4 million euros annual salary.

Rebic, of course, was said to have the “scumbag gene” by Niko Kovac (it’s a compliment!).

Gundogan doesn’t buy into the Sane-to-Bayern “Hype Train” (The Mirror)

Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan believes Leroy Sane will not leave the Premier League champions this summer after speaking with his club and international teammate:

I also talked to him, but he didn’t give me the impression that he really wants to leave. I don’t think Manchester City wants to give him up either. Since Leroy still has two years left on his contract, there is no reason to take action. Therefore, I am assuming that he will stay and I would of course be happy about that.

Another Hernandez to the Bundesliga? (kicker)

Atletico Madrid’s Lucas Hernandez is on his way to start the next leg of his career in Germany, but is his brother Theo far behind? Maybe not.

kicker is citing a report from Sky stating that Bayer Leverkusen might have some interest in Theo Hernandez, a 21-year-old left-back.

Lucas Hernandez has switched from Atletico Madrid to FC Bayern for 80 million euros, his brother Theo is on Bayer Leverkusen’s note, according to a report by “Sky”. Die Werkself is on the lookout for a left-back. Theo, as such, moved from Atletico to Real Madrid two years ago for 24 million euros. However, the 21-year-old hardly had a chance with the Royals and spent the past season on loan in San Sebastian. There is supposedly a loan with a purchase option on the table.

Draxler to Tottenham? (Transfer Market Web)

Linked to Bayern at one point, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and Germany international Julian Draxler might be off to Tottenham Hotspur.

Not thrilled with his position in PSG roster, German international attacking midfielder Julian Draxler (25), according to Daily Star, has just been offered to Tottenham. Playing for French giants since January 2017, former Schalke and Wolfsburg star is currently on a deal with them until June 2021.

Grillitsch extends deal (kicker)

Hoffenheim’s Florian Grillitsch is one of the players I think would be a good fit with Bayern at some point. Grillitsch has a rugged, yet polished style of play in the midfield that I think brings an aura of toughness to the field.

Right now, however, the Bayern is midfield is pretty crowded, so any acquisition is going to have to be the type of player who jump right over the likes of Leon Goretzka, Corentin Tolisso, or Javi Martinez on the depth chart.

Grillitsch likely isn’t at that level yet, especially with Thiago Alcantara playing more of a defensive midfield role where Grillitsch seems to do some of his best work. Regardless, it looks like he’s got a nice little stretch ahead of him with Hoffenheim.

Florian Grillitsch has extended his contract with TSG Hoffenheim prematurely until 2022. The 23-year-old Austrian, who came from Werder Bremen in 2017, played in 30 games during the current Bundesliga season.

ICYMI: Another podcast (Bavarian Football Works)

We did another podcast and talked over some of the recent transfer rumors regarding Manchester City’s Leroy Sane, Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt, and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi. We also dug into the Women’s World Cup, which kicks off today and gave our thoughts on the group stage.

Jake has also tried to throttle down all mentions of #TimoTime, but I won’t stand for it — and neither should you!
