It is well documented that Bayern Munich wants Leroy Sané to join them this summer. After Bayern made an official offer to Manchester City, Joshua Kimmich gets a chance to charm Sané towards coming to Bayern, while they are both on duty with the German National Team. Kimmich talked to Bild about Sané, and his thoughts on a potential transfer.
I would absolutely love to have Leroy at FC Bayern. That is the right signal. He is an athlete that fits great with Bayern.
Kimmich also cited Sané’s lack of playing time at City as his number one argument for coming to Bayern.
He is a young, German athlete with great potential, who lately at City — especially in the big moments — hasn’t been allowed to play, which I personally can’t understand. If I was in Bayern’s position, I would buy him.
When asked what his feeling about the transfer was, Kimmich was optimistic.
I think that he has the desire to play. And with us he will play. It is his choice and the task of those responsible to persuade such a player.
Kimmich is helping the persuasion. It was reported that Kimmich and Sané were seen hugging multiple times and speaking with each other often.
It also appears that the possible Sané-transfer is a big topic among the whole team, not just among Kimmich and Sané. Even PSG’s Julian Draxler said, smiling, “I have only addressed [Sané] with ‘mia san mia’ over the last couple days.”
We will see if this national team camp will pay dividends for FC Bayern. Who knows? Maybe we’ll even see Draxler join Kimmich and Sané in Munich one day!
