Bayern Munich prospects went one for two in the Round of 16 at the U-20 FIFA World Cup. While Chris Richards and the United States picked up a big in over France, Marcel Zylla and Poland were eliminated thanks to an Italian penalty kick.
Richards and the United States scored late and held on to outlast France 3-2 in an impressive victory. This American team scored three goals against a defense that included Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara, Borussia Dortmund’s Dan-Axel Zagadou, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan N’Dicka, and Fiorentina goalkeeper Alban Lafont.
While it wasn’t a perfect game for Richards, he still came out of it being lauded as one of the best players on the field for the Americans once again.
On the flip side, Zylla and Poland were knocked out of the tournament with a 1-0 loss to Italy on a first half penalty. Zylla came close to scoring for the hosts, but he just wasn’t able to find the back of the net.
