The FIFA Women’s World Cup is still underway with the Semifinals and Final to go, but the Bayern Munich Frauen are already looking ahead for their season opener in mid-August. On Monday, July 1st, they will start their season preparations with the new head coach — Jens Scheuer. The Bayern official site released an overview of all public trainings, friendlies and preseason tournaments.
Open training sessions
The first open training session will take place on Monday, July 1. There will be four open training sessions in total. All four of them will be held in July — 1st, 8th, 15th and on 22nd. If you are interested, you can find the specifics here!
Friendlies against Ingolstadt and Zurich
The first friendly matches of the season will take place on July 13th and 20th — probably not with a full squad. The Women will play a game against Ingolstadt on the Bayern Campus, and admission is free. The game against last year’s UEFA Women’s Champions League opponents FC Zurich is organized by SV Arnach and will be played in the local Xare Miller Stadium in Arnach, Germany.
Preseason tournament in Toulouse
From the 6th to the 8th of August, Bayern will take part in the Women’s French Cup in Toulouse. The other tournament participants are European top teams: Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea, and Montpellier.
Friendly match against Arsenal
On July 28, Bayern will compete in the Emirates Cup against the women’s team of Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium. The game is set to kick off at 12:30 local time.
