Callum Hudson-Odoi has been on Bayern Munich’s radar for quite some time now. In January, the Bavarians made three offers for Chelsea’s winger, but were turned down all three times. Most recently, Bayern bid €25 million but was rejected again. The latest bid is substantially lower than offers made in January, because Hudson-Odoi’s contract expires in the summer of 2020, and he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside the UK in January.
According to a report from SkySports, Hudson-Odoi is still no closer to signing a new contract with Chelsea. Reportedly, both sides are very far from reaching an agreement. Recently, Hudson-Odoi turned down a long-term contract worth £100,000 a week.
Hudson-Odoi is still one of the primary targets for Bayern this summer. Even though the youngster is injured after rupturing his Achilles in April, Der Rekordmeister remains confident that it can land the winger.
The situation around the youngster is very difficult. After the departure of Eden Hazard and Chelsea’s two-window transfer ban, the transfer is still unlikely to happen this summer. The departure of Maurizio Sarri and possible coming of Frank Lampard might change Callum’s stance on contract. In my opinion, though, while this transfer won’t happen this summer, there is a big chance that Bayern could sign a pre-contract with Hudson-Odoi in January.
