Bayern making a lay for Bergwijn (kicker)

With Manchester City’s Leroy Sane seemingly off the market and FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembelé in limbo, Bayern Munich has turned its attention to PSV Eindhoven’s Steven Bergwijn.

Bayern are looking for wingers. Negotiations with Leroy Sané (Manchester City) are proceeding rather sluggishly, Ousmane Dembelé (FC Barcelona) has thought-provoking games, Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) remains a candidate despite his Achilles tendon rupture. As another option, the FCB but also the seven-time Dutch international Steven Bergwijn (21) from PSV Eindhoven in view. 14 goals and 12 assists in 23 league games in 2018/19 impress, plus five Champions League appearances (a template). The left winger still has a contract with PSV Eindhoven until 2022.

In addition, German Football Daily also tweeted out that Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in Bergwijn.

It looks like 2020 for Timo (Münchner Merkur)

Per a report by kicker (as captured by the Münchner Merkur), it looks like Bayern will wait until it can bring in RB Leipzig on a free transfer in 2020.

kicker also suspects that Werner 2020 should come to the Säbener Straße on a free transfer. Especially since the 23-year-old is rather not seen as (a wing) or a Lewy replacement and thus currently does not have the highest priority.

Juve getting close on De Ligt (Transfer Market Web)

Juventus is allegedly getting close to finalizing a deal for Ajax center-back Matthijs de Ligt.

According to latest Italian news, reported by QS, Juventus management are sealing the deal with Ajax on Dutch international centre-back Matthijs De Ligt (19), on an about 75 million euros exit fee. Bianconeri won the 1999-born over Manchester United, PSG, and Barcelona FC.

Van den Berg chooses LFC over Bayern (TEAMtalk)

PEC Zwolle center-back Sepp van den Berg has chosen Liverpool over Bayern Munich. Apparently one of the big factors in in Van den Berg choosing Liverpool was the presence of Virgil van Dijk:

I was thinking about [the idea of] training with Virgil. For me he is the best defender in the world right now, so I can learn a lot from him.

Atleti makes huge bid for Felix (Marca)

At one point SL Benfica winger Joao Felix was on the radar of Bayern Munich, but his popularity and price has risen greatly over the past three month. Now, Atlético Madrid appears to be the leader in the clubhouse to procure Felix with a stunning €126 million offer.

Joao Felix’s move to Atletico Madrid continues to edge ever closer as Benfica have informed the stock market of an offer for the forward. The Portuguese club have confirmed that Atletico have submitted an offer of 126 million euros to buy the player, which is currently being considered at the club.

Felix was also being courted by Manchester City, which might now turn its attention fully back to retaining Sane.

Rooney still can be amazing (@MLS)

D.C. United’s Wayne Rooney has done nothing but prove that he still has much to offer the game of soccer since moving to MLS last year.
