In a move that has been long rumored, Bayern Munich youngster Wooyeong Jeong will officially join SC Freiburg on a loan for next season. The 19-year-old midfielder had a fairly successful season in the Regionalliga with Bayern II enough so to impress Freiburg to make a play for him despite him only making one appearance for the big club coming on as an 81st minute sub against Benfica.

With Freiburg barely hanging on to their spot Bundesliga, finishing in 13th in 2018-2019, this could be the perfect next step in Jeong’s career as he figures to be a key contributor for a side looking to improve their attacking prowess.
According to Bild, Jeong is transferring to Freiburg for a few of 4.5 million euros, but Bayern has successfully added a buy-back clause into the arrangement because president Uli Hoeness and chairman Karl-Heinz Rimmenigge are firm believers the n the youngster’s talent. Freiburg’s legendary coach Christian Streich is the perfect person to guide Jeong through his first seasons of top-flight soccer.
