Report: Bayern Munich to ship Adrian Fein out on loan to Hamburger SV

With a crowded midfield in tow, it looks like Bayern will once again loan out Adrian Fein.

Bayern Munich midfielder Adrian Fein will reportedly be sent off to Hamburger SV on a one-year loan per a tweet from Bild’s dedicated Hamburger SV Twitter account (@BILD_HSV). The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Jahn Regensburg where he had an opportunity to cut his teeth with first-team soccer in 2.Bundesliga.

In addition, TZ is citing a report from Bild that states that Fein is with Hamburger SV now to take a medical examination.

Perfect! #HSV borrows Bavarian talent Adrian Fein (20) for one season.

In June of last year Fein signed a professional deal with Bayern Munich and was subsequently sent off to Regensburg where he made 21 appearances in 2.Bundesliga. Fein started last season in the Regionalliga with Bayern II, playing six matches before the loan to Regensburg was secured. Fein tallied two assists during those games for Regensburg.

It was rumored earlier this month that Fein would join FC Koln on loan, but that move must have fallen through. A scouting report written up by Sport Bild last year had this to say about Fein’s strengths as captured last year on our site:

He’s constantly pulling the strings from midfield, with his sharp vision allowing him to find a player on their stronger foot. Fein is also described as being “very long and robust”, while also containing a strong drive. Ask any modern central midfielder, and surely the majority would agree that these skills tick the boxes with regards to the qualities needed to prosper at the top level.

Sport Bild also pointed out Fein’s weaknesses:

Fein has a “lack of awareness in terms of making unchecked runs into the opposition’s box” while also “struggling to beat his man in a one-on-one battle when attempting to dribble.”

Regardless, the talented 20-year-old should get an opportunity to hone his skills further with Hamburger SV.
