The price on James could be lowered for Napoli (Football Italia)
The latest stay with Real Madrid for James Rodriguez was expected to be brief, but it could end up a living Abe Simpson meme.
Colombia international James Rodriguez is open to joining Napoli and it’s reported Real Madrid could lower the €42m asking price. The creative midfielder just returned to base after a two-season loan spell with Bayern Munich and has no room at the Bernabeu.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, James is the number one transfer target for the summer, as requested by Carlo Ancelotti. The coach already worked with him at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. It’s believed Real Madrid would be prepared to lower the €42m asking price, which was the option to buy that Bayern decided not to take up. James would receive a five-year contract worth €6.5m per season.

De Ligt unsure on future plans (Münchner Merkur)
Ajax center-back Matthijs De Ligt took the news regarding Bayern’s withdrawl from his courtship in stride and seems to be in no rush to make a decision on his future. Speaking after the Netherlands’ 1-0 loss against Portugal in the UEFA Nations League yesterday, De Ligt didn’t seem to feel any pressure in making a decision.
I don’t know. Now I’m going on holiday to recover. And then I’ll see.
Ajax, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain are all allegedly still involved with De Ligt.
