RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has been linked to Bayern Munich repeatedly, but Die Roten Bullen is now hoping to get a little help from the Bavarians to keep their star.

Sounds weird, eh? Well, RB Leipzig is hoping that speculation regarding Niko Kovac preferring an attacker with a different skill-set is true.

According to RB managing director Oliver Mintzlaff, Timo does not want to extend Werner in Leipzig. A residual hope, however, probably exists with the Saxons. FCB trainer Kovac apparently prefers a different type of attacker.

Earlier this week, Leipzig tossed around the possibility of Werner staying another year and then leaving for free, but that would be considered the most unlikely of scenarios.

For his part, Werner seems intent on joining Bayern, which should make negotiations interesting. Bayern allegedly wants to pay €25m, while Leipzig wants €60m.

Tottenham Hotspur is joining Bayern, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Real Madrid in the hunt for AS Roma phenom Nicolo Zaniolo.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham are about to submit AS Roma a cash bid on Italian international inside/attacking midfielder Nicolò Zaniolo (19). In talks with Giallorossi on a new long-term, the sensational 1999-born is also tracked hard by Juventus, Bayern Munich, PSG, and Real Madrid
