In a new report by Sport Bild (not yet on their website), Bayern Munich have abandoned their pursuit of Lille OSC winger Nicolas Pepe. The Ivory Coast international has been heavily linked with the club all season, but it seems that the transfer may not come about after all.
Here’s Christian Falk confirming his scoop:
Our story today: @FCBayern will not go for Nicolas Pepe @LOSC_PT @SPORTBILD

We don’t have any more information other than that tweet, so there’s basically nothing else to go on. Was it the price demanded by Lille? Were the bosses not convinced by Pepe? We don’t know. Hell, we don’t even know if the report is true or not.
Who could come if the Pepe transfer doesn’t happen? There’s Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa, as well as Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi (who might be returning from injury sooner than expected), and we even had reports that Bayern might consider Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ante Rebic at some point.
This is a pretty strange rumor to evaluate, given the dearth of info available. So, let’s put it to you: what do you think about this report?
