Bayern will decide James Rodriguez’s future “after the cup final”

Will James Rodriguez stay or will he go?

James Rodriguez is still stuck in limbo — at least, publicly. As his two-year loan from Real Madrid comes to an end this summer, the club has to decide whether they want to pay the €42 million fee to acquire him on a permanent basis.

To the public, though, Bayern Munich are still playing the game, “Well, golly gee, we don’t have know yet whether or not we’ll sign him full time,” and that line continued on Saturday following the Bundesliga title decider.

When asked by Bild’s Christian Falk, Hasan Salihamidzic said that the decision will be made “after the cup final.” Falk tweeted:

Certainly, at this point, Bayern have decided whether they’ll keep James or send him back to Real Madrid. Brazzo can continue to play coy in public, however, so we’ll have to wait until the season has finished before we receive official word from the club on whether James stays or whether he goes.

James has been hampered by injuries this season, only playing in 20 games — almost 500 fewer minutes than last season. Fan reaction to James remains all over the place, with some thrilled to see him go and some desperate for him to stay.
