In news that was expected, both Manuel Neuer and James Rodriguez will miss the season finale against Eintracht Frankfurt. Per a report by Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac acknowledged that the league leaders will be without their star duo when attempting to clinch the Meisterschale for a seventh consecutive time.
Manu made good progress today, he’s satisfied, but it’s not enough to play against Eintracht. The calf is holding its own, but it’s only with a view to Berlin that something will happen. We’ll have to see what happens with the goalkeeper exercises.
James’ chronic and nagging calf issues have also once again hampered his availability as Kovac expects the Colombia international to miss the game as well.
Not all of the news was bad, however. Joshua Kimmich, Thiago Alcantara, and Javi Martinez are all expected to be available on Saturday despite having a reduced workload this week.
