Bayern Munich officially unveil new home kit for 2019/2020 season

They are OFFICIALLY here, everyone. Get excited for these.

FC Bayern.com

We’ve already seen the kit leak of Bayern Munich’s new home kits for next season, but ladies and gentlemen, the club have officially unveiled the new kits today; this is not a drill. The kits will be worn in Bayern’s final league match of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena and they’re already available to purchase on the club’s official web site. Additionally, the club will sport these kits during their preseason summer tour in the United States

Have a look at some of the photos taken at the official release:

I’ve already given my take on the kit leaks as they’ve come out, but out of the upmost respect for the club, I feel it’s best to hear what the club had to say about in their official press release:

The iconic red jersey features a unique diamond design that pays homage to the innovative architecture and unrivalled atmosphere of the Allianz Arena in Munich. Socks and shorts will follow the all red design of the jersey while the goalkeeper jersey shows a modern and progressive green two-tone colorway, designed in line with the digital remixed graphic of the home jersey. The new kit will be seen on-field for the first time on May 18, during the final league match of the season where FC Bayern can secure the club’s seventh consecutive German championship. U.S. fans will be able to see their team in the new season’s home kit during the Audi Summer Tour kicking off in Los Angeles with a game against Arsenal on Wednesday July 17 at Dignity Health Sports Park followed by a game on Saturday July 20 against Real Madrid at NRG Stadium in Houston. The tour will close in Kansas at Arrowhead Stadium where the team will meet AC Milan on Tuesday July 23.

When the leak for this kit first came out, I must admit that I didn’t recognize the shell-type pattern that’s supposed to pay homage to the Allianz Arena. BFW’s own Jake Fenner was the first one to mention it in the comments section, so this is credit where credit is due! Digesting this kit even further, there is just so much to admire in addition to it’s touching tribute to our historic home venue. After all of the protests that surrounded our navy blue shorts in this season’s home kits and our mint green/light blue away kits, it’s incredibly refreshing and reassuring to see that our new home kit is ALL red, aside from the green keeper’s kit, of course. Bayern fans are like no other sets of fans in the world, and we know how to make our collective voice heard. Whoever is responsible for coordinating with Adidas clearly listened to us when they designed this season’s kit.
