Per a report from kicker, Bayern Munich center-back Niklas Süle has been suspended for the upcoming DFB-Pokal semifinal. Bayern could face RB Leipzig, Werder Bremen, or Hamburger SV in the semifinal match. The draw will take place on Sunday at 6PM (CEST).
After his red card in the quarterfinals against 1. FC Heidenheim, Niklas Süle has been suspended for one cup game. This was decided by the DFB sports court on Thursday. In the wild quarterfinal against Heidenheim (5:4), the national player was ejected from the pitch by referee Guido Winkmann after only 15 minutes of play, after making a late tackle on Robert Andrich.
Süle is considered by many to be Bayern’s lead option at center-back this season, so his absence will surely be felt. In the 23-year-old’s stead, we may assume that Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng will be the starting duo as Bayern will attempt to clinch a spot in the final for the second consecutive year.
