Earlier this morning, Bayern Munich announced that its planned friendly in Beijing against the Chinese national team has been postponed.
The game was due to be played on May 29th, but the club has decided to push the date back. Bayern’s 3-2 win over Werder Bremen in the DFB-Pokal semifinals on Wednesday clinched a date with RB Leipzig in the finale on May 25th. Playing a friendly just four days later with an aggressive travel schedule would have been a rugged regimen for the roster at that point of the season.

The game has been billed as the Allianz China Cup and will mark Bayern’s fourth game in China. Previously Bayern had friendlies in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing. Bayern’s most recent visit to China was part of the Audi Summer Tour for the International Champions Cup in 2017. During that trip to China, Bayern squared off with Arsenal and AC Milan.
