According to two separate reports by Paris United and Bild, Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is wanted European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. Reportedly, the player only wants a top European side, and the two being linked certainly fit the bill.
According to Paris United’s report, an agreement was reached between Boateng and PSG last summer, and the move fell through because of the French club’s sporting director Anteror Henrique. Thomas Tuchel still wants Boateng in Paris, and the agreement that was reached should still stand.
Bild cites Italian newspaper Tuttosport (oh dear) as a source, which is about as bad as a source can get, but they don’t refute anything in the PU article. Apparently Juventus are interested in the defender to bolster their ageing center back lineup, with Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini both getting rather old at 37 and 34 years of age respectively.
With Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard both arriving in the summer, it’s basically a foregone conclusion that Jerome Boateng will leave Bayern Munich — it’s just a question of which club will get him. He rejected Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United last summer, and it’s understandable that he prefers to remain at a top European club. Juve and PSG are both good teams, so that shouldn’t be an issue. So, France or Italy — where will he end up?
