After Manuel Neuer got injured against Fortuna Dusseldorf, he seems to be getting better. Neuer, who left the game early, has ruptured muscle fiber in his calf. Bayern Munich goalkeeper already announced that he plans to return before the end of this season.
My aim of course is to get fit again as quickly as possible. I think the match against Leipzig is a realistic target.
As his other teammates traveled to Bremen for DFB-Pokal clash, Neuer was spotted running this morning. He ran with the fitness and rehab coach Thomas Wilhelmi at Säbener Straße. We can expect him to level-up his training promptly so he will be ready for season-defining clash against RB Leipzig. Or maybe two of them, if the Bavarians go through to the DFB-Pokal final.
In Neuer’s absence, Sven Ulreich gets a chance to prove his worth against Werder Bremen. He is usually a good substitute and hopefully he will prove the nickname Sven the Wall tonight!
