In Bayern Munich’s latest training session, the main takeaway was optimism. Franck Ribery, who missed the last game with a cold, returned to full training. Joining him was Corentin Tolisso, who is still on the road to recovery from his torn ACL. Tolisso suffered a minor setback a few days ago when he was part of a collision in practice, but he appears to be back on course to return to the field in the near future.
Rafinha, who like Ribery missed the Düsseldorf game due to a cold, could only return to individual training. Along with Rafinha was 35-year-old Arjen Robben, as he’s trying to move on from his... whatever injury it is now.
The Dutchman has been out since late November with varying muscular problems that have remained persistent. He’s taken a step in the right direction with an intense individual session that included sprints, changes of direction, shots, and passes. It still remains to be seen if he’ll ever make a return to his team of ten years before moving on.
